Time Changes...

Time changes everything
Time heals all wounds, just give time time.

Does time really heal all wounds or does time simply allow us to forget them and dull their pain? Does time heal or allow us to learn from our wounds? Do you consider something healed if you can't feel it anymore? Or do you consider it healed when you've covered it with a bandaid?

Twenty years on I still have some wounds from which I am waiting to heal; do they just need more time? Or is it just that day by day as time goes by I am getting closer to the day when I will finally be able to stitch those wounds and leave their impacts on me in the past, where they should be?

Only time will tell...

  1. hmmmm. I guess it depends on the wound.
some wounds will just fester if given only time. some wounds need more love and attention as well as time in order to properly heal.
a post to think about indeed.

  2. I think it is more, When the 'Time is right' and you are ready to heal that the real healing begins. Scars always remain as reminders of your courage to heal. Take Care.

  3. Sometimes we hold on to the pain to remind us of the love we feel or the lessons we need to learn. I have some of those wounds and after reading your post I realised that they haven't healed because I don't want to let go. Maybe I will one day.

  4. Thank you for your comments ladies; I think you're all right.
I've been picking and picking at this one particular wound because I just wasn't ready to deal with it, wasn't ready to let it go. Now I'm in a phase wherein I'm really trying to confront my past so that I can let it go and stop it from holding me back.
